As a mom of three little ones, it’s hard to say just how many diapers our home has gone through in the past five years. Hundreds, or probably thousands of diapers. All I know is it’s a huge number, and I am so fortunate to be able to provide that basic necessity for my children.
However, there are SO many families here in Florida (and around our country) that simply cannot provide diapers for their babies. They have to choose between paying the rent, putting food on the table, or putting a clean diaper on their baby’s bottom. I cannot imagine having to make those very heart wrenching choices.
I was excited to learn about a new initiative launched by Babies”R”Us and Huggies to help the one-in-three families that have a diaper need.
Through September 30 Babies“R”Us shoppers can help these families by purchasing Huggies diapers or adding it to their registry at Babies“R”Us. For every pack purchased, Babies“R”Us and Huggies will donate a day’s worth of diapers to the National Diaper Bank Network.
In total, Babies“R”Us and Huggies will donate up to 1.5 million diapers, with a significant portion going to the Second Chance Resource Center to help the 150K babies in Florida living below the poverty line, through Huggies’ No Baby Unhugged program.
The graphic above shows how you can also get involved to help families in need of diapers. Ways you can help are by: visiting NationalDiaperBankNetwork.org to find out more about supporting your local diaper bank, organization a local diaper drive, or donate your Huggies Rewards Points at Huggies.com/Rewards.
