Make these beautiful painted flower pots for spring – DIY Marbled Terra Cotta Pots add effortless glam to your potted plants and home decor…
I’m a total sucker for succulents! They’re such an adorable plant, and look great in my house for the spring season. Instead of potting my succulent plants in basic terra cotta pots, I decided to amp up my plants with a fun DIY project.
My potted plants are now housed in gold and white marbled painted flower pots! This was a fairly simple project to do, and I love how they turned out. I’ll definitely be making more of these in other fun color combinations!
Want to make your potted plants look fabulous, too? Here’s how you can make these marbled painted flower pots…
DIY Marbled Terra Cotta Pots
– paint in 2 shades of accent colors (I did 2 different gold shades)
– bowl or container for paint
– scrap paper or small drop cloth
First, add 3 parts white paint with 1 part water into a paint safe bowl that’s large enough to fit your terra cotta pot.
Next, randomly add in the gold (or whatever color you’re using) paints on top of the white paint. Do this in no particular pattern. You can even use a straw or paint brush to quickly swirl the paint around a bit, but do not mix the paint.
Next, holding your terra cotta pot horizontally, you’re going to roll the pot on the surface of the paint. You don’t want to dunk the pot all the way into the paint. Simply roll it evenly through the paint.
Set the pot aside on a drop cloth (or reuse a brown paper bag for this!) to air dry.
Once your marbled painted flower pot is dry you can add in your plants!
These marbled terra cotta pots look absolutely adorable with succulents planted in them. They’d look cute with so many other types of plants, too!
Happy Crafting, friends!
