Make this adorable Easter dessert idea that’s sure to please your guests…
There are two kinds of people in this world. Those that like PEEPS and those that do not. Which are you?! I have one son that really likes PEEPS, and one who wants nothing to do with the fluffy little marshmallow creatures. But, one thing is for sure…they BOTH love this Easter dessert!
With Easter right around the corner nearly every store has PEEPS stocked in a rainbow of colors. I spotted some at Target yesterday and decided to make these adorable Easter treats. These mini dirt pies are an awesome Easter dessert idea that your little bunnies will go crazy for! Everything you see on these mini dirt cakes is totally edible. The “carrots”, edible Easter grass, the dirt…everything!
Ready to make some super cute mini dirt pies for your next Easter dessert? Here’s what you’ll need to get started!
Easter Dessert – Mini Dirt Pies with Peeps Bunnies
– (1) Jell-O Chocolate Pudding Mix
– 2 cups cold milk
– 1 package cream cheese (room temperature)
– (1) 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
– mini graham cracker pie crusts
First, add Jell-O Pudding Mix and cold milk to stand mixer and beat until completely mixed. Then, add in cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk, and mix again until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. (Note – you could totally make this without the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk, and simply make the bottom layer Jell-O Chocolate Pudding. The way I’m showing makes it more of a chocolate cheesecake…and oh so tasty!)
Once all ingredients are mixed, pour the batter into mini graham cracker pie crusts. Chill for at least an hour in the fridge to allow the pies to become firm.
While the pies are setting, add OREO cookies to a large zip top bag and crush the cookies until they’re super crumbly!
After chilling, remove the pies from the fridge. Pour crushed up OREO cookies onto each mini pie. You now have your “dirt”.
Now it’s time to decorate these babies!
You’ll want to use two small pieces of edible Easter grass to make “grass” in the dirt.
Then, add an icing carrot to each mini pie.
Now it’s time to add the PEEPS bunnies. To help them stand up on the dirt pie you can either use toothpicks (or I used cut up drinking straws) inserted in the bottom of each PEEP.
That’s it! You now have your own little garden of adorable little Easter bunnies!
TIP – Keep these mini dirt pies in the fridge until you’re ready to serve them!
I hope you have a wonderful Easter holiday with your loved ones.
