Being the mom of two very hungry little
caterpillars er, sons, (and one very hungry husband!) means that I am constantly grocery shopping. I am always on the lookout for snacks for toddlers that my kids will love. They have a running list of their favorite snack foods, and will often see something in the store that they’ll want to tryout. Side note – taking said hungry children with me to the grocery store always results in a much higher bill than going food shopping by myself! lol…
Chillin’ out, relaxin’, and snackin’ all cool…
(read the above to the tune of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song) 🙂
Not only can snacks help fill an empty belly in between meal times, but they’re something vital to my survival as a mother of children born only 13.5 months apart! Sometimes there’s things that need to be done, like a car trip, or cleaning the house, or going to a doctor’s appointment. A helpful, handy snack can really distract a small kiddo from NOT throwing a tantrum, and get you from point A to point B as fast as possible. Am I right, or am I right, mamas?!
Here’s a quick list of the top snack items that we keep on permanent rotation in our busy home:
Easy & Healthy Snacks for Toddlers
-fresh apple slices
-fresh carrot sticks
-drinkable yogurt smoothies
– granola bars
My kids definitely are currently obsessing over the new Gerber Lil’ Beanies! These spared us from a toddler meltdown on a recent trip to Walmart, and I am forever grateful to Gerber Lil’ Beanies for saving the day! These are baked, and made with delicious navy beans (but your kids will never know unless you tell them!) and they come in their delicious Original flavor and also White Cheddar with Broccoli.
